Double Comfrey • Healing Salve

Comfrey, also known as boneknit, is a nourishing plant in the borage family (Boraginaceae). With a tap root that reaches deep within the Earth, comfrey brings rise to a beautiful array of vitamins and minerals. 

The constituent responsible for comfrey’s healing ability is called allantoin. Allantoin supports the body’s natural ability to repair soft tissue and maintain skin moisture. Comfrey is considered a cooling herb and is traditionally used as a poultice for hot/dry skin conditions.

The deep tap root contains higher concentrations of mucilage and allantoin. This salve takes a whole plant approach, using both the dark green leaves as well as the black root to promote rapid healing.
